Shogo Seifert is a German-Japanese trumpeter and composer currently living and working in Berlin.
He was born into a very musical environment, surrounded by music since birth. At the age of 6, he began taking lessons in African percussion, at 8 he started trumpet lessons, and at 16 he began piano lessons.
He studied trumpet and composition at the Dresden University of Music (HfMDD), the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse à Paris (CNSMDP), and the Jazz Institute Berlin (JIB), among others with Malte Burba, Sebastian Studnitzky, Bastian Stein, Riccardo Del Fra, and François Théberge.
Since completing his master's degree at the Jazz Institute Berlin, he has been working as a versatile trumpeter and studio musician, regularly performing with his own bands and as a sideman in various formations and show bands in Germany and beyond (e.g., France, Poland, Japan, UK, Austria).
In the spring of 2025, his debut album with his current main project "RAUKE" will be released as part of the Jazz Thing Next Generation series under Double Moon/Challenge Records, which expands a jazz quartet with a string quartet.
Besides his main instrument, the trumpet, he is occasionally heard on the saxophone, piano, and synthesizer, such as in the band of producer Donkeychote or with the duo Seifert/Rueß.
In the beat/instrumental area, he can be heard on several songs that have surpassed the million-stream mark.
Shogo Seifert has received scholarships from the German Music Council, the Music Fund, and the Music Council of Saxony e.V.
